It's another of our latest Barong designs!

Modern, boxy, loose silhouette, such an easy fit. Made of jusi (silk polyester blend), cropped right below the waistband of your bottoms, and hand-dyed in house in a rich neutral, camel.

This stunning new embroidery design series is called Hiwaga ng Hinabing Panaginip (Mystery, Magic, or Wonder of Woven Dreams).

An ode to the ecology, and an appreciation to the process of the dream-inspired and spirit-infused T’nalak weavings of the T’boli tribe, this series (of which this is the second, check out the first one here) serves reverence and honour through contemporary design, encapsulating the serenity, spirituality, and the enchantment of wonders that can be found at Lake Sebu in Alah Valley in South Cotabato. 

Hiwaga ng Hinabing Panaginip II: This design embraces natural abundance and weaves the mantra of living harmoniously with nature. Featuring the endemic Abaca plant (Musa textilis) that is used as the primary natural resource for creating textiles and clothing at Lake Sebu; as well as the patches of magenta Lotus flower blooms associated with renewal and purity --closing at night and re-emerging from the water with the sunrise; the lush green Pakong-buaya ferns, and white herons that would glide over the water and come to rest on the bamboo poles stretched out to mark the tilapia fish pens.

Each Barong is made of hand-dyed jusi with pearl effect buttons, and is hand-dyed, handcrafted by the VINTA Gallery team in our atelier in the Philippines. Hand-manipulated machine embroidery is also done in our atelier.
