We’ve been so lucky (and honoured) to have some of the best and most talented human beings we know get behind our mission and gloriously rock our VINTA Gallery Filipiniana pieces.

Every person on this list has their own unique style, and they wear these Filipiniana terno dresses, terno tops and barongs so well, the result becomes a collective celebration of diversity, creativity and original genius on top of Filipinx pride and empowerment.

Check out 10 gorgeous modern Filipiniana outfits worn by these shining stars and get inspired.

Birds of Prey movie star and singer Ella Jay Basco looked absolutely fabulous in our Mock Neck Tulip Terno Dress during last year’s Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival. There to support her uncle Fil-Am actor, Dante Basco, for his movie The Fabulous Filipino Brothers, Miss Ella Jay graced the premiere, rocking beachy long locks and black strappy sandals for an effortless Filipiniana look we all loved.

Isiah Magsino in the New Chinoy Barong

We cannot get over this gorgeous Filipino man. Vogue and GQ contributor, Isiah Magsino,  looked nothing short of perfect in our New Chinoy Barong. Slim cut, with a fully open button up front and micro Mandarin collar, Isiah is simply a vision in this barong.

Ann Pornel in a VINTA Gallery Modern Filipiniana Custom Terno Dress

Vanessa Magic, the stylist for CBC’s The Great Canadian Baking Show approached us with the task of making Ann Pornel, one of the hosts, some fun fabulous ’fits for the show.

“They have a distinctly bright and light colour palette for the show, which made it really eye-catching,” said Filipino designer and VINTA Gallery Creative Director, Caroline Mangosing. “Vanessa wanted the Ruffle Tent Terno in neon yellow, but wanted something more knee-length for Ann. We found this gorgeously vibrant yellow fabric with roses on it. Vanessa paired our custom terno dress with a light grey belt and royal blue low, chunky pumps – just magic!”

Read more about Ann’s reactions to our custom dresses in her article, “‘I full-on cried.’ Host of The Great Canadian Baking Show on why her flirty wardrobe was a game-changer.”

Nina Lee Aquino in the High Neck Pleat Front Camisa

Trailblazing Filipino-Canadian director, dramaturge and newly appointed Artistic Director of English Theatre at the National Arts Centre (NAC), Nina Lee Aquino, has been an avid supporter of VINTA Gallery since day one. She’s had many different looks with VINTA pieces, but one of our faves was back in 2019 when she opened a show in Ottawa’s NAC donning all black everything in our modern Filipiniana High Neck Pleat Front Camisa with a pop of magenta heels. Ugh.

Honorable mentions include Nina in our Cerise High Neck Crop Barong, featured in the Toronto Star, and Nina in our Unisex Oversized Ifugao Jacket. Whatever VINTA ’fit she’s in, we’re just honoured to have been a part of her journey in some small way.

Couple goals. One of the best dressed Filipino and Filipina celebrities in our opinion, singer-songwriter, AJ Rafael, and Forbes 30 Under 30 Disney Executive Producer, Alyssa Navarro, strutted their gorgeous selves decked out in VINTA at the 19th annual Unforgettable Gala — an awards ceremony that celebrated Asian and Pacific Islander accomplishments in arts, entertainment and culture.

AJ shone in our Filipino Deco Jusi Tunic Barong alongside his partner-in-crime, Alyssa, in a legs-for-days Terno Mini Dress with sampaguita flowers galore. Everything you need for an awe-worthy Filipiniana red carpet look.

Loriebelle Nestor in the Terno Jacket Dress

HAIRLOVE salon owner and hair expert, Loribelle Nestor, looked fierce and flawless in a business chic ensemble for a segment on The Marilyn Denis Show. LB oozed pure confidence in our fully lined black Terno Jacket Dress, with its sleek hourglass, pencil cut silhouette and power shoulders inspired by the power suit of the 1980s. Simply one of the best modern ways to wear a terno like a boss.

Erika Cas in a VINTA Gallery Custom Terno Dress

Survivor Winner Erika Cas in VINTA Gallery Custom Terno Dress
Erika Cas reached out to us in May looking for a custom Filipiniana terno dress for “an event in December.” “In our next video chat in October, she told us she was a contestant in Survivor,” VINTA Gallery Global Operations Manager, Sydney Cohen, said. “We had no idea she would be THE winner of Survivor season 41!”

This ain’t your normal Maria Clara dress. Erika wore her champion status well in a custom VINTA Gallery emerald cotton satin Sheath Terno Dress with Slit.

Ouida in the Tulle Camisa

Musician Ouida in VINTA Gallery Tulle Camisa
If you asked us what Filipina excellence looked like, we’d show you Ouida in her visually stunning music video “Coffee (Ride With You).” Looking like a goddess in our Tulle Camisa paired with a flowy white pleated skirt, San Francisco neo soul artist Samantha Ouida Hyland was simply immaculate in voluminous modern Filipiniana butterfly sleeves inspired by 1910s camisa.

Ruby Ibarra in the Terno Jumpsuit

Ruby Ibarra in VINTA Gallery Terno Jumpsuit
“I'm a boss bitch and I'm beautiful.” Fil-Am rapper Ruby Ibarra dripped in “GOLD” and made it known in our hot pepper yellow Terno Jumpsuit Dos in a music video with our girl Ella Jay Basco. Made in honour of Asian American Month, the duo sang their hearts out, taking pride and ownership of their beautiful golden skin. And what better way to feel that empowerment and pride for their heritage than to literally wear their culture on their sleeves. Check out the music video “GOLD” for more VINTA Gallery styles you’ll love.
