Lingling-o Choker with 13.5" Curb Chain
The earliest surviving examples of lingling-o, dating back to around 500 BC, were found in Taiwan, Vietnam, and the Philippines. The name lingling-o comes from the Ifugao name for these ornaments.
The lingling-o at present has gained popularity as a symbol of Philippine ancestry and pride, more importantly, fertility and feminine power.
This choker is made with 13.5" gold tone stainless steel curb chain with a 3" extension link, also in gold tone stainless steel. These stainless steel chains do not tarnish! The pendants are handcast solid recycled brass 5/8" in diameter. These lingling-o pendants are made and sourced directly from one of the last brass casting families in the Ifugao region. Chokers are lovingly hand-assembled in Toronto by our founder, Caroline Mangosing.
