Unisex Kalanguya Jacket
Unisex Kalanguya Jacket
$375.00
Ready-to-Wear
This gorgeous unisex Japanese Haori inspired jacket is made with beautiful, 100% cotton, ethically sourced, hand-loomed textile from a 100-year old weaving enclave in Baguio in the northern region of the Philippines. This weave pattern is attributed to a small ethnic group from the northern Cordilleras region called the Kalanguya. Read more about Kalanguya people here. The repeating motif of what looks like a jar is called linuhhung – it represents a mortar vessel, which were used by the Cordilleras people to store their harvested crops.
As always, this is a limited run item, so do not hesitate!
Each jacket is handcrafted by Master Lita and the VINTA Gallery team in our atelier in the Philippines.
