Unisex Handloomed Maranao Tubao

Traditionally worn by both men and women as a head wrap / bandana or kerchief (around the neck) while working, these Tubao are handloomed in Marawi. The plaid weave is used from the Visayas down to Mindanao. It is said that this plaid weave was learned from Indians (from India) in the Madras region where the indigenous people in the Philippine archipelago had been trading with since before the Spanish arrived.

The Tubao come in one size, measuring 26” x 26" square.
