The earliest surviving examples of lingling-o, dating back to around 500 BC, were found in Taiwan, Veitnam, and the Philippines. The name lingling-o comes from the Ifugao name for these ornaments.
The lingling-o at present has gained popularity as a symbol of Philippine ancestry and pride, more importantly, fertility and feminine power.
These necklaces are made of 22" gold tone stainless steel cable chain - it does not tarnish! The pendants are hand cast solid recycled brass 3/4" in diameter. These lingling-o pendants are made by one of the last brass casting families in the Ifugao region, and is ethically sourced from The Manila Collectible Company. Necklaces are assembled in Toronto.
